The goal of the English program for international students is to prepare them for success in their academic work. The program focuses on building and solidifying various language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, as well as improving their English grammar vocabulary. Along with helping students to develop good study habits, the ESOL program prepares students to handle the language requirements of other courses, and also to handle a variety of assignments. In addition, the program will help students understand cultural differences and expectations in Crestwell classrooms.
In addition to curriculum, students would have the opportunity to attend educational weekend trips. These include:
- Modern Museum of Science
- Ranch and Equestrian Experience
- Marine Biology, Dolphin Study, Boating & Snorkeling Trip
- Cape Canaveral Kennedy Space Center
- Weekend Kayaking & Water Sport Activities
All international students board with Crestwell Community families.
Crestwell is authorized under Federal Law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. Crestwell is an approved school for the International Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).
In order to attend Crestwell as an international student, your child will need to obtain an F1 visa. If the student is currently studying in the United States under a parent’s visa, documentation will need to be provided to Crestwell prior to his/her arrival to campus.
The U.S. government has mandated that all schools use a new system of tracking international students known as SEVIS. The SEVIS program creates an I-20 form with a special barcode attached. That I-20 should be taken to your consulate or Embassy so that your VISA can be issued in a timely manner. It is not the school’s responsibility to secure your VISA.
It is also important to note that an I-20 WILL NOT be released until you have been accepted to Crestwell. The I-20’s will be sent once a tuition deposit is received. If you have any questions about this process, contact the International Student Coordinator via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (239) 481-4478.
